White Chocolate Popcorn
Sweet, crunchy, and irresistible, this white chocolate popcorn is the perfect treat for any occasion!
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (104g) popcorn kernels (Note: you can also use microwave popcorn but we find the unbuttered kind works best for this recipe)
- 1 1/2 cup (12 oz) chopped Cococo couverture white chocolate or white chocolate drops
- fine sea salt or flaky sea salt
Instructions
- Line a baking tray with parchment or wax paper.
- Pop the popcorn according to the manufacturer's directions, using your preferred method (stove top, hot air popper, microwave). Remove any unpopped popcorn kernels (this is important).
- Pour popcorn into a large bowl, large enough for mixing the other ingredients.
- Melt the chopped white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl on 50% power in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat, because white chocolate can burn easily. Read our blog How to Melt and Temper White Chocolate.
- Drizzle half of the melted white chocolate over the popcorn, then stir, scraping the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula and folding over and tossing gently a few times. Try to achieve a light coating of chocolate on the popcorn. Be careful not to crush the popcorn.
- Drizzle the remaining half of the melted white chocolate over the popcorn mixture, and gently toss until everything is evenly coated.
- Pour the mixture into a single layer onto a tray lined with parchment or wax paper.
- Allow the candy popcorn mixture to cool and harden, then gently break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
